Sunflower seeds are extremely rich in nutrients, proteins, healthy essential fatty acids (linoleic acid), fiber, copper, magnesium, calcium, phosphorus, selenium, zinc, iron, vitamin E, B vitamins.

These seeds are healthy sources of fat that play an important role in our body and are carriers of liposoluble vitamins (fat-soluble vitamins) A, D, E and K.

Why is it good to include sunflower seeds in your diet?

1. They guard the heart and blood vessels

Sunflower seeds contain phytosterols that prevent the deposition of "bad" LDL cholesterol on the walls of arteries, lower cholesterol levels, reduce the risk of atherosclerosis and protect the health of the heart and blood vessels.

2. For healthy and beautiful skin

Sunflower seeds have a high content of vitamin E, a powerful antioxidant, and a cup of these seeds satisfies 80% of our daily needs for this vitamin. Vitamin E hydrates the skin, gives it elasticity and softness, protects it from harmful UV radiation, reduces the appearance of wrinkles and prevents its premature aging.

3. Prevention of osteoporosis

Sunflower seeds contain a large amount of magnesium which contributes to the normal function of the central nervous system, has a beneficial effect on heart health, relaxes muscles and prevents their spasms, necessary for a healthy and strong skeletal structure and prevents osteoporosis.

Lack of this mineral causes nervousness, fatigue, muscle cramps, migraines, constipation.

4. Excellent against fatigue, insomnia

Sunflower seeds are rich in vitamin B5 (pantothenic acid) which:

  • Degrades fats and carbohydrates to supply the body with the necessary energy
  • It plays a role in hormone synthesis
  • Vitamin B5 is needed for the production of red blood cells and cholesterol
  • For healthy brain function

Vitamin B5 deficiency is associated with symptoms such as muscle cramps, fatigue, insomnia, irritability, depression, and abdominal pain.

5. Better mood

As a good source of magnesium, this seed can improve our mood, reduce nervousness and prevent anxiety and depression.

6. Promotes weight loss

Sunflower seeds have a high caloric value, but they are a good source of dietary fiber. These fibers have a beneficial effect on digestion, speed up metabolism, reduce cholesterol levels and give us a longer feeling of satiety after meals, which prevents overeating and helps us lose weight healthily.
